Early on the morning of the first day of the week several women took the spices, which they had bought, to anoint the body of Jesus. As they walked they began to wonder who would roll away the stone, but when they enter the garden they are surprised to see that the grave is open.  

While an angel descended to roll away the stone, the guards became as dead men and Jesus arose from the dead. The women saw the empty grave and were told by the angel to go and tell the disciples. Although not all of the disciples could believe that Jesus was alive, He would appear to them. These appearances are His testimony to us that he has conquered death and the grave, to go and prepare a place with the Father for His church.
