After Pilate delivered Jesus to be crucified he was led to Golgotha where He would be crucified between two malefactors. While on the cross Jesus spoke seven significant sayings. The last words were: “Father, into Thy hands I commend my spirit” (Luke 23:46), and He gave up the ghost. So Jesus gave His life.

At the time of His death several events occurred convincing the centurion and the multitude that something unusual had taken place. Two men who had become His disciples came forth and buried Jesus’ body in a new grave.
