It’s the morning of the Lord’s Day and the sermon preached is called The Action Sermon because it focuses on the atoning work of Jesus Christ, his sufferings, and great work on the cross of Calvary to redeem us from the curse of the law. Rev. Macleod’s sermon brings us near to the sufferings of the Lord Jesus as he faces the cup of God’s wrath to save sinners. Rev. Macleod takes us through the Fencing of the Table and the Communion Table address, where all aspects of the sacrament are clearly explained, and the communicants are urged to come and partake of the bread and the wine.
