In lesson 62, we told you a little bit about the time when David numbered the people and 70,000 people died. Here in I Chronicles 21, we have more details about what happened. Satan had stirred up pride in David’s heart, and he wanted to know just how large his kingdom was, so he told Joab to number Israel. This was wrong, because it was God who gave the increase, and that should have humbled David.
