The first and largest of the prophetic books is the book of Isaiah. Isaiah was the son of Amoz. Isaiah prophesied during the reign of the kings Uzziah (also called Azariah), Jotham, Ahaz, Heze- kiah, and probably Manasseh, all kings of the southern kingdom of Judah. Isaiah is often called the Old Testament Evangelist, because of his many prophecies are about the coming Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.
