The Letter to the Church in Philadelphia

To the church at Philadelphia, Christ introduces himself as “he that is holy, he that is true, and he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and no man shutteth…and he that is holy.” He saw and acknowledged their good works. They were a small church, and had little strength, but they kept his word and did not deny his name. So the Lord encouraged them that he would keep them from the hour of temptation, and reminded them to “hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”
